3rd Person Initiatives

Eden Football Club

The Eden Football Club (EFC) is the first significant project 3rd Person launched in Quesmay.  From a humble beginning of just twenty boys aged 10 - 15, this endeavor has expanded to over 200 boys and girls.

By building an environment of teamwork, sports provide a fantastic opportunity to focus on relationship skills off the field. Partnering with local schools’ efforts to build community and reduce violence, EFC helps boys and girls learn to build and repair relationships with God, classmates, and their respective communities.

In addition to the value of teamwork, competition, and sportsmanship, EFC works to improve cooperation, increase reading levels, promote a positive view of self-worth, and prevent drug abuse. EFC uses soccer and boxing as an outlet for the development of creativity, critical thinking, and knowledge.

Care Packages

Family Freedom Program

Believing that poverty is primarily the result of broken relationships and systems and not just a lack of material resources, 3rd Person works with key nationals empowering them to inject hope into their communities and restore broken relationships and systems within them.

3rd Person has had tremendous opportunities to come alongside grass roots organizations in Lebanon and Jordan to increase their capacity to care for the poor and needy through direct relief and aid, education and vocational initiatives, and social, spiritual and emotional care. Through our amazing partners, we've been able to assist families in critical times like winter, when blankets and heating fuel become necessities. Our partners are well aware that aid is temporary and only part of the felt needs, and also offer counseling, medical care referral and activities for kids in the populations they engage with.

“But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.”

- Luke 10:33

We aim to show compassion to the people of the Middle East by providing an opportunity for them to earn sustainable income. Ten Thirty Three hand bags and totes are made by local women from the community of Quesmay. These business development efforts are designed to create home-based businesses as well as add a valuable asset to the community. The funds used for these projects will enhance employment and training opportunities for people in broken and impoverished communities all over the Arab World.

Community Builders

Community Builders is a women’s development program designed to illuminate the problems of our community, build and repair broken relationships and empower women to understand their value. The goal is to increase their self-value through training and therapy designed to engage women to eventually replicate the same model themselves in their community.

In the context of our community in the Arab World, women are often perceived as being less valuable than men. The reasons for this perception vary and are often self-imposed feelings rather than societal directives. Whatever brokenness causes the lack of self-value and self-confidence, Community Builders works to accurately restore women’s pictures of themselves.

The primary way that we work to restore the accurate view of their personhood is through a training course developed by Ruba Kattan, our women’s program designer.

I am Important

Take care of yourself, you are important! That's a message that sounds cliché to some, but it is not one that everyone is familiar with. That is the key emphasis for this group of Eden FC dads called "I am Important" lead by Captain Walid & Captain Mohammad. They get together twice a week for exercise, personal growth, and self-care. The goal is to establish these Keystone habits of regular exercise and healthier eating, these habits often cause a domino effect.  These lifestyle changes can be the spark to ignite the motivation needed to stop smoking, relieve chronic anxiety, improve emotional well being, or even overcome the battles with depression.
